Self-piercing riveting (SPR) is a cold forming technique used to fasten together two or more sheets of materials with a rivet without the need to predrill a hole. This self piercing riveting cell features an ABB IRB 6700 robot, with the entire process managed by the custom Restart HMI. The setup is designed to process multiple frame models (5 models) with automatic rivet loading through a storage system. The guided HMI interface enables complete traceability of the product and ensures quality control of the riveting process through force/displacement curve analysis on rivet deformation.
